Washington Crossing Historic Park.This historic park is where General George Washington and the Continental Army crossed the Delaware River on Christmas night 1776 and marched to Trenton, NJ, to defeat Hessian troops. The park offers reenactments, events, guided tours of several historic buildings, including McKonkey Ferry Inn and Bowman's Hill Tower, as well as the Soldier's Graves and magnificent Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve. Reflect on the historic activities of 1776 at the annual Christmas Day recreation of Washington Crossing the Delaware River, a commemorative event with activities, speeches and uniformed troops that cross the Delaware.
